Aïsha Devi

Of Nepalese-Tibetan descent but born in the Swiss Alps, Aïsha Devi's cross-cultural identity is a guide in her personal and creative process of seeking outside sonic norms. Her key stylistic signature is the dislocation of pop culture and the use of the voice, the most powerful and central instrument in a repertoire that encompasses pounding rhythms and rave breaks, seraphic and guttural chanting, mystical linguistics and body sounds. Co-founder of the label-collective Danse Noire proposes undisciplined and revolutionary sounds for clubs around the world together with artists such as Gabber Modus Operandi, Yikii and J.G. Biberkopf .
